What is CBD?

I presented this speech in my Toastmasters group.

I’ve become an affiliate with a CBD distribution company.

I didn’t even know what CBD was until a few months ago.

Xon, the company with whom I’m associated, distribute products made from industrial hemp plants grown on Colorado farms. Cannabidiol (CBD), comes from a cannabis plant with enormous therapeutic potential
In other words, it’s an oil extracted from the hemp plant that can be extremely beneficial for your health.

CBD is extracted from the flowers and buds of marijuana or hemp plants. It does not produce intoxication; marijuana’s “high” is caused by the chemical tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

The information I’m presenting to you today is from Project CBD. Project CBD is a California-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting and publicizing research into the medical uses of cannabidiol (CBD) and other components of the cannabis plant. They provide educational services for physicians, patients, industry professionals, and the general public.

First of all, the Hemp plant and the marijuana plant are different. Marijuana contains a much higher concentration of THC and used primarily for recreational use.

Hemp is used more for industrial purposes: It’s even used for paper (the Declaration of Independence)) was on Hemp. The first American Flag was hemp. Back in the day, Hemp was used for rope on ships. The American colonies were actually required to grow hemp. You were actually jailed for NOT growing hemp.

Back in the early 1900’s when Big Pharma realized how beneficial CBD was for your health, they got it outlawed.

We have an Endocannabinoid System which has been dried up due to not receiving the cannabis like we did back in the day when people actually grew cannabis.

There is a great deal of research taking place – much by of it sponsored by the US Government – showing how the cannabis is extremely beneficial for a wide range of illnesses and systems. CBD has been demonstrating positive results in modulating many systems in the human brain and body, including chronic pain, cancer, Crohn’s, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, PTSD, cardiovascular disease, anxiety, antibiotic-resistant infections, multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia, and more.

Extensive preclinical research and some clinical studies have shown that CBD has strong anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant, anti-depressant, anti-psychotic, anti-tumoral, and neuroprotective qualities. Cannabidiol can change gene expression and remove beta amyloid plaque, the hallmark of Alzheimer’s, from brain cells.

The main reason I joined Xon was because my friend, who introduced it to me, has Rheumatoid Arthritis. After being on the product for a short time, her life has changed. She can now get out of bed with ease and do the physical tasks she used to be able to do before RA.

Then I saw a video another distributor had shared. Her grandmother had Alzheimer’s to the extent that she didn’t recognize her granddaughter and when she spoke it was all garble. After only 6 weeks on the CBD oil, the grandmother recognized her granddaughter and was talking fluently!!!!!

I encourage you to investigate what the CBD oil can do for you. You can go to this site’s Xon page or go to: https://Xpirient.com/cherihickman to view the products and more info.
