Taking Care of YOU!

Menopause and Happiness happen when you take care of yoursellf!

Now that you are pre or during Menopause, do realize you’ve spent most of your life doing for others? It is a tendency for some of you to always do for others and never take care of yourselves.  I used to be that way.  Then I discovered that when I invested in myself, I was able to be more helpful to those around me.

You can too!  Take the time, effort, and money to take care of YOU and you will be amazed at how much more you can inspire, aid, and love the people around you.

Investing in yourself is like taking  a course in school to get a degree in whatever field of work you decide you would like to be more proficient.  Doesn’t it make sense for you to go to “school” in how to be a better you, in order to become more proficient in LIFE?

Menopause is a stage of life when a new awareness arises. You may not know what to do about your new discoveries. That’s what your Queen Bees are for. We focus on what is “Not Working” for you, so you can be the best you can be.  Usually, it’s only a tweak here and a tweak there. We have several online courses available to support you in gaining clarity, courage, and confidence to become the best you can be.  Our Joy Store displays a variety of Alternative Menopause Solutions for you to choose, to move forward and take care of YOU!  ENJOY!

Stop The Beatings!

Menopause seems to create an awareness of how you’ve been treating yourself over the last few decades. You realize how often you beat yourself up over the most ridiculous life events or not achieving what you want. Why is it that you feel you need to beat yourself up whenever you miss achieving a goal?  It is just a goal.  At least you are further ahead than you were when you set the goal.   If you had not had an idea and acted on it at all, you would still be where you were at the time you actually set the goal.

Changing your perspective on goal setting will help you get you where you want to be quicker.   It’s OK to miss your target date and miss your results.   It’s OK to negotiate your goal with yourself.   It’s not set in stone that it has to look a certain way.   Realizing that it’s OK to change your goal or allowing it to be different than you thought it would be, helps you to be more relaxed about goal setting.  It also almost always looks different than you thought it would and that is usually a blessing.

If you don’t set a goal because you are afraid you will disappoint yourself, then you are keeping yourself in a rut.   Rut standing for “being in a coffin with the ends cut out”.  You go nowhere.  Act on your ideas and see where they land.   If nothing else you took action that will create growth, understanding, and knowledge for you to store in your experience database. When you are pre or during menopause, you start wondering what you have done with your life and are ready for a change.  Be courageous and step out of your box.  Go for the change.  It’s OK.

Be confident that you are worth the risk of setting a goal and going for it.  Be confident that you will at least have experiences that reveal new information.   Be confident that you will have a new or better perspective on what it is that you desire.  Even if you decide that you want something totally different, it’s OK.   You’ll find that unless you act upon your ideas and dreams, you’ll go nowhere.   View failure as a stepping stone to success.  Without failure there is no success.

Stop the beatings, change your perspective, trust that you are worth making mistakes so you can grow into being the person you want to be.  By becoming someone you’ve never been before you achieve something you’ve never achieved before. In the “midlife” stage you’ve acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience.  It’s time for you to go for it. We support you to gain the courage and clarity you need to move forward and go for your dreams. Go to our Joy Store and see our online courses for Alternative Solutions to the Menopause Mess.

Life Coaching 101

I have been a life coach for nearly 10 years.  When I meet someone and share – I am a life coach, most of them become curious and immediately start asking me questions.  I would like to share with you 6 of the most commonly asked questions and my personal answers, so you can have a better understanding of the life coaching experience.

1)  What is a life coach? A life coach supports and motivates their clients in getting clear, getting organized and staying committed to their goals and their desires.  Much like an athletic coach, we want the best for our clients and are able to see our clients situation through a different pair of eyes, thus we are better able to see where the changes need to come from in order to put our clients on the road to success. Life coaches are not therapists.  We do not fix any one and we are not anyone’s mother.  We are someone you hire to guide and inspire so you stay committed to your success and achieve it.

2)  Who are your clients? Personally, my clients have come from every walk of life and have had various reasons for employing me.  Some need me to support them to stay focused to accomplish a business goal.  I have worked with several small business owners to stay motivated, organized, and focused.  I have worked with mothers who want to organize their schedule to experience more balance and joy in their lives.  I have even coached a busy workaholic couple so they could find time to have fun.  Yes, we scheduled in fun every week!  Many of my clients just want more balance in their lives.  Still, others do not know what they want and I work with them to discover their desires. Now I focus on before, during, and post menopause women. Cheri and I have been there and done that, so we are sharing what we have learned with as many women as are ready and willing to listen and learn.

3)  Is everyone coachable? My answer is no.  I do not work with everyone that wants to hire me.  I have to assess if the person is coachable.  I really don’t want to waste my time or theirs. I give them a short questionnaire to take before I accept them as a client.  They must fill it out and get it back me in a timely manner.  I also have them take their toilet paper roll currently in their bathroom and turn it to roll the other direction and leave it that way for two days or when the paper runs out.  Once we connect again after I have received the completed questionnaire, I ask them about the toilet paper roll exercise and if they kept it reversed for the complete time or not?  If they answer is yes, I work with them.  If it is no, I walk away.  If they could not do this simple exercise, then I feel they would not be open to follow through with the changes needed to stay committed to their goal.  Over the years, this method has worked well for me.

4) How do you work with the clients? We get together in person or via phone and I explain what is expected of them and what they can expect of me.  I have them sign a commitment type contract.  Here they commit to call me on time for the coach calls and to check in with me via emails on the days and time agreed on.  They also commit to be honest with me about doing what they said they will do during the week to achieve their goals.  Then we make a plan and create steps to take everyday and week towards their goals.  If a weekly task is not completed, then we work on why it did not happen and  take steps to remedy the matter.  My job is to motivate them to stay on their agreed path to success.  Like anything, you will get out of the experience what you put into it.

5) How do you choose a life coach? If you ever decide you would like to hire a life coach, feel free to shop around. Interview the different coaches.  Ask the coaches for referrals.  As much as many of us are alike, we all do our coaching a little bit different. Some coaches take certifications courses and some don’t.  It is up to you to decide if it is important for your coach to have a certification or not.  We also might have different philosophies.  I use my intuition when I am working with my clients which works for me. I like to work in three month increments whenever possible. I believe it takes at least 90 days for my clients to implement the changes they need to continue to achieve their goals and desires.

6) What does it cost? That varies from coach to coach.  We all have different pricing.  Some charge in the hundreds a month and others charge in the thousands depending what the coach wants to charge.  I create personalized coaching packages and price them according to the client’s needs.  Some coaches do flat rates.  I have my clients pay up front for my services.  I feel it encourages them to stay committed to their goals.

I hope this article on Life Coaching 101 has supported you in understanding the life coaching experience from my point of view.  I almost forgot there is one more question they ask, “Do life coaches have coaches?”  Some do and some don’t.  In my opinion, the good ones do!

Your Reason For Existence Needs No Justification

One way to get through all the menopause emotions is to focus on what brings you happiness. Your hormones are running wild, which means this might be easier said than done. That is why we have guided, online courses to support you in focusing on what you want and to quite the Bitch, so you can be the Queen you deserve to be.

“Your reason for existence needs no justification, for your existence is justification enough.  You are a creator and the subject of your creation is your joyful life experience.  That is your mission. That is your quest.  That is why you are here.”  –          Abraham-Hicks

When you feel or “Be”, then you “Do”, you will “Have”

I love this quote.  It says it all!  We need no justification.  Many of us spend an unnecessary amount of time searching for our purpose.   Looking for the reason we are here.  Wondering what it is that we should be doing with our lives.

All that we really need to do is whatever makes us happy.  Whatever we want to experience at any particular time.  Whatever makes us happy will lead us to what we are here for.  Doing what is joyous puts us in alignment with who we really are.  Being in alignment allows us to allow all the good things in.

You are the creator.  If you have the desire, you have the ability to achieve it.  Expect opportunities to come your way.  You don’t need to have the capability, skills or intelligence.  Those will show up.  Be grateful for what you have at this moment and you will find that new experiences arise over and over again – joyful experiences.

This sounds extremely simple.  Practice looking at everything in your life that makes you happy.  Focus on the good and not the bad.  By focusing on the good you will change what is happening in your life.  By focusing on being happy, you will have new, joyous experiences.

I was reading a blog from a friend of mine (www.vickikallman.com) and it struck a cord!  She suggested we determine how we need to BE to get what we desire out of life.  For instance, I need to be courageous, creative, trusting, and loving to get what I desire.  I have started focusing on the way to BE so that I can HAVE my goals.  It does make a difference.   I can FEEL the difference.  Try it, you might like it!

The more you are BEING, the more you will HAVE.

Let us help you through this Menopause Mess.  Go to our Joy Store now and see what feels good to you. Your Reason For Existence Needs No Justification!

Are You Stuck, Again?

Stuck again!

When it comes to making positive changes in your life,  do you get stuck? It seems you know you must, should, or have to do something different, however,  it just becomes too difficult to move forward. It is like you are walking slowly up hill in deep sand! The next thing you know, you feel exhausted and get stuck. Do you feel this happens more times than not when you set a goal? Let’s find out the root of this frustrating behavior.
In all my years of coaching people through their personal growth process, the greatest stumbling block to achieving rapid change and growth is this….we won’t give up our old patterns and beliefs.  Even people who really want to change often have trouble because they will not give up their old familiar ways of being and doing!

I call this resistance. Resistance is insidious. It is the “show stopper”. It stops you from  having, doing, and being what you want in life. Menopause is a time in your life when you are ready to make huge changes and then those changes bring up fears that cause you to resist. Using our tools and techniques allow you to get unstuck, let go of those resistance beliefs and move forward to more Happiness in your life. Click here to find out more about how to let go of resistance.

It is always beneficial to be reminded when you are in resistance. Knowing this will allow you to become aware that your non-productive, old beliefs are still hanging around and stopping you from easily moving forward in your life.
Sadly, resistance is a natural response to trying to make a positive change. However, you probably would not have set a goal for yourself, unless there was something you wanted to change or improve in your life. Unfortunately, resistance gets in the way.  Resistance is a little like the glue which holds all our limitations or suffering in place. As you are working on completing a new goal, you may hit layers of resistance. It may even take the form of “forgetting” you even had the goal or losing interest in it altogether. This is where learning to “let go of your old beliefs and patterns” will really pay off.

Would you rather have your goals and your freedom, or would you rather have the false security of clinging to your old painful emotions, beliefs, or patterns? It is really your choice! Remember, resistance is just a feeling. What you resist persists! And it keeps you stuck…

Resistance is operating 24/7 because we live in a Sea of Should’s, Have To’s, Must Do’s and imperatives! Imperatives or commands- stir up resistance. It is like the world is pushing on you and you are pushing back. It becomes quite exhausting and stressful. Maybe, it is time to “let go” and stop pushing back!

Letting go of your past beliefs and resistance is not always easy. I love this story.
A man fell over a cliff and he is hanging onto a branch sticking out from the cliff for dear life. He screams out,”Is there is a God, help me?” He hears aloud reply, “YES!” He cries out, again, “What should I do?” God answers, “Let Go!” Then the man replies again, “Is there anyone else up there I can ask for help?” HA!

Remember resistance is wanting to make changes using your old beliefs which keep you stuck with shattered dreams.  Notice using this method has not given you the results you would like. Einstein shared, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.” Could it be time do something different? Letting go of the resistance, old patterns and beliefs and embracing the I Can beliefs, will allow you to have more energy to achieve your dreams.

“Sometimes we must become someone we have never become before, to achieve something we have never achieved before.”

You can only do this by letting go of your old beliefs and I can’t emotions, so your new beliefs and I can emotions can take over. In the process, you can have better health and relationship, more wealth, and just be happy! Why not put the flow back into your life? Stop being Stuck!
